The exhibition ?Welcome to the Jungle? at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf and its catalogue present video installations, performances, space-encompassing presentations and site-specific works by 9 international artists who all live in different cultural contexts. The selected works observe specific situations or developments in the sphere of consumption, sustainability or the state of contemporary society, doing so in a way that is reflective and often humorous. Some of the artists make use of documentary practices and, without seeming moralistic, point to the unattainability of an ultimate truth or the right way. They also break with the medial or formal norms of the selected practices and explore the social role of art and its protagonists, not just from political but also from economic, social and ecological perspectives.00Exhibition: Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Germany (03.03. - 21.05.2018).
