This book constitutes the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Internet and Distributed Computing Systems, IDCS 2016, held in Wuhan, China, in September 2016. The main objective of this book is to provide a multidisciplinary overview of methodological approaches, architectures, platforms, and algorithms for the realization of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Urban Ecosystem (SUE).
