En kvinna letar efter sitt barn. Hon går gatorna fram och ropar. Hon letar längs cornichen där dottern brukade arbeta. Hon letar tills hon är vansinnig, galen av sorg. Tills hon glömt sina andra barn. Hur kan man fortsätta att leva efter att ens barn har försvunnit? Vad för slags mamma är man då?
