Gabriel Moens

The International Trade and Business Law Review publishes leading articles, comments and case notes, as well as book reviews dealing with international trade and business law, arbitration law, foreign law and comparative law. It provides the legal and business communities with information, knowledge and understanding of recent developments in international trade, business and international commercial arbitration. The Review contributes in a scholarly way to the discussion of these developments while being informative and having practical relevance to business people and lawyers. The Review also devotes a section to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and publishes the memoranda prepared by teams coached by Professor Gabriël A. Moens. The Review is edited at the Murdoch University School of Law in Perth, Australia. The Editors-in-Chief are Mr Roger Jones, Partner, Latham & Watkins LLP, Chicago and Gabriël A. Moens, Dean and Professor of Law, Murdoch Law School. It is an internationally-refereed journal. The Review is supervised by an international board of editors that consists of leading international trade law practitioners and academics from the European Union, the United States, Asia and Australia. The Student Editors for Volume XII are Sybil Almeida, Gianni Bei, Luke Rotondella, and Nicholas Summers from the Murdoch Law School.

﻿The novel, set in Chicago, Wuhan, and Sydney, investigates the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic, and weaves a tapestry of intrigue with the threads of many factual events happening around the globe. It follows the exploits of a Chinese virologist, studying at an American university where he meets an American lawyer, who follows him back to Wuhan in China. He deliberately cultivates a friendship with an Australian virologist, resulting in a fetish-driven relationship pursued lifelong. The novel explores the intentions of the protagonists who undertake actions for different reasons which are incompatible with each other. This incompatibility requires them to make moral judgments and twisted choices.

A Twisted Choice - A Covid 19 Novel

The Coincidence is a thriller set in the future, involving an American president and a would-be assassin. The story focuses on an extraordinary cluster of coincidences that will keep the reader guessing as to the resolution until the last page. Specifically, the novel focuses on a real issue that mesmerized the world community: the destruction of monuments and statues throughout the world, notably in the United States, the United Kingdom, but also in Australia and other countries. This issue provides the background for this tale of conspiracy, attempted murder, revenge, and redemption. The novel describes and illuminates human nature exposing the misguided and the flawed. It highlights social conditions dominated by violence and lawlessness and explores social issues such as racial discrimination, inequality, and possession of guns. The story is mainly set in Kansas City and Washington DC in the United States, and in Sydney, Australia. Some developments in the story occur in Italy, mainly in Florence and Macerata. The tales of the four main protagonists of this story are intertwined, and they will eventually result in the demise of three characters. The story also offers a short revelatory account of Christopher Columbus, discoverer of the Americas in the 15th century, the emerging and developing hologram technology, and American election campaigns. Additionally, there are sections dealing with contemporary university governance and politics. They provide a humorous distraction, while still relevant to the development of the story, from the novel's central themes. The interrelationships between education, political intrigue, technology, and human relationships have been interwoven to produce an entertaining and thought-provoking crime novel.
