Gita Steiner-Khamsi is a Professor of Comparative and International Education at Teachers College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the Harriman Institute, Columbia University in New York. She is Iranian by birth, Swiss by upbringing, and a U.S. citizen by naturalization.
