The Homeric Questions of the philosopher Porphyry (3rd cent. CE) is an important work in the history of Homeric criticism. Porphyry applies the dictum that the poet explains himself to solve questions of interpretation in Homer. This new edition of the Questions on the Iliad eliminates much that was wrongly attributed to Porphyry in the old edition (1880).
