This book discusses some applications of Generalized Nets (GNs). They include the functioning and results of the work of expert systems, flexible manufacturing systems, neuron networks, computers, medical, transportational, chemical and other processes. Processes can be simulated, controlled and optimized on the basis of these GNs. A program package for GNs (PPGN) is described.

Applications of Generalized Nets

The Generalized Nets (GNs) are extensions of Petri nets and of different Petri nets modifications, introduced by the author (1982). In the book, definitions and the basic properties of GNs are given. The GNs extensions and reductions are discussed. GNs, which describe the functioning and results of the work of different types of petri nets, different types of finite automata and of Turing machines, are given. Over the GNs are defined different operations, relations and operators. They can also be transferred onto other nets. Many open problems in the GNs theory are given.

Generalized Nets

This book is a collection of papers devoted to the emergence and development in Bulgarian Academy of Sciences of some of the areas of informatics, including artificial intelligence. The papers are prepared by specialists from the Academy, some of whom are among the founders of these scientific and application areas in Bulgaria and in some cases – in the world. The book is interesting for specialists in informatics and computer science and researchers in history of sciences.

This volume is a brief, yet comprehensive account of new development, tools, techniques and solutions in the broadly perceived “intelligent systems”. New concepts and ideas concern the development of effective and efficient models which would make it possible to effectively and efficiently describe and solve processes in various areas of science and technology. This volume constitutes the proceedings of two collocated international conferences: EUSFLAT-2017 – the 10th edition of the flagship Conference of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology held in Warsaw, Poland, on September 11–15, 2017, and IWIFSGN’2017 – The Sixteenth International Workshop on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets, held in Warsaw on September 13–15, 2017. The conferences were organized by the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Department IV of Engineering Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Polish Operational and Systems Research Society in collaboration with the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and various European universities. The aim of the EUSFLAT-2017 was t o bring together theoreticians and practitioners working on fuzzy logic, fuzzy systems, soft computing and related areas and to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing the latest trends and ideas, while the aim of IWIFSGN’2017 was to discuss new developments in extensions of the concept of a fuzzy set, such as an intuitionistic fuzzy set, as well as other concepts, like that of a generalized net.
