This paper develops a basic dynamic model of the demand for the commodity "good health" in which the family is regarded as the producer of "good health" and in which the spouses bargain for the allocation of the family's total resources. The innovating and distinguishing characteristics of our model is that it stresses the importance of conflicting interests of husband and wife.
