"Can We Trust Jesus?" is a family advent resource that traces the Gospel of Matthew as he sought to help us see who Jesus really was and is. The journey helps us see how Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecy as told by Matthew and engages the family with challenging questions and learning activities to tackle together. This is a life-changing book for the whole family. Learning from Matthew is vital for Christians since he, like us, was broken and needed fixing. Matthew had seen Jesus in person, and he wrote down all his experiences to help us see the evidence Jesus provided for all his claims. Matthew reminds us of the predictions that God gave through the prophets of the past. He also told us that those predictions and promises came true in the life of Jesus. (Days 1-4) Leg Two--He Has a Message (Days 5-9) Leg Three--He Is Different than Expected (Days 10-14) Leg Four--He Is Rejected (Days 15-19) Leg Five--He Is Not Done (Days 20-24) Each day offers the time to look back to what the prophets foretold and how it was fulfilled through Jesus. Published on the occasion of his eponymous touring solo exhibition, 'Piercing Brightness' is the first major monograph of British artist Shezad Dawood. For a number of years, Dawood has developed a unique discursive and collaborative approach to making art through a practice that incorporates light sculpture, textile painting and film. Known for his tumbleweeds- ironic sculptural fusions of Islamic and contemporary culture- Dawood gained international acclaim for Feature, a 'zombie Western' set in the English countryside.
