Après avoir évoqué d'autres périodes troubles de l'Histoire, Michel Quint revient sur la guerre d'Algérie, et évoque les dissensions qui ont opposé les partisans de l'Algérie française à ceux de l'indépendance. Mais que serait ce récit sans la sensibilité et l'humanité dont l'auteur, toujours fidèle à ce devoir de mémoire qui avait tant ému dans Effroyables jardins, honore ces personnages ?

Premier roman noir de Michel Quint, l'auteur du très célèbre Effroyables Jardins, ce Testament inavouable est un petit joyau enfin republié.
