This proceedings consists of selected papers presented at the International Conference on Computer Science and Technology (CST2016), which was successfully held in Shenzhen, China during January 8-10, 2016.CST2016 covered a wide range of fundamental studies, technical innovations and industrial applications in 7 areas, namely Computer Systems, Computer Network, Security, Databases and Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia, Theory and Software Engineering and Computer Applications.CST 2016 aims to provide a forum for researchers, engineers, and students in the area of computer science and technology. It features unique mixed various topics in computer science and technology including big data, system architecture, hardware and applications. CST 2016 attracted more than 300 submissions. Among them, only 142 papers were accepted in to the conference after a stringent peer review process.

Numbers, Information and Complexity is a collection of about 50 articles in honour of Rudolf Ahlswede. His main areas of research are represented in the three sections, `Numbers and Combinations', `Information Theory (Channels and Networks, Combinatorial and Algebraic Coding, Cryptology, with the related fields Data Compression, Entropy Theory, Symbolic Dynamics, Probability and Statistics)', and `Complexity'. Special attention was paid to the interplay between the fields. Surveys on topics of current interest are included as well as new research results. The extant literature on first passage problems of reflected hyper-exponential jump diffusion processes (RHEPs) lacks efficiently computable formulae for the Laplace transform of the joint distribution of the RHEP and its first passage time, cumulative distribution function of the overshoot, expected cumulative value of the discounted increments of the local time up to the first passage time, expected cumulative discounted value of the RHEP up to the first passage time, and expectation of the first passage time. We combine numerical solutions to ordinary integro-differential equations and martingale methods in a novel manner to derive such expressions. For some of these quantities, our approach can deal with the subtle case in which both the RHEP's overall drift and the discount rate equal zero. As a by-product, we obtain a formula for the Laplace transform of the RHEP transition density. We illustrate the numerical performance of our methodology through a few examples. We observe that when the RHEP's overall drift and the discount rate are very close to zero rounding errors can make the evaluation of some of our formulae unreliable. In these situations our exact expression for the case of both zero RHEP's overall drift and discount rate can be an effective approximation for the quantities in question that is substantially more efficient than reliably calculating them using their exact expressions and ``Multiprecision Computing." Our research has applications in financial engineering, insurance, economics, and queueing.
