La vieille ou les dernières amours d'Ovide

Nach dem großen Erfolg des Bandes »Fatrasien. Absurde Poesie des Mittelalters" setzt Ralph Dutli seine poetische Erkundung eines unbekannten, fremden und dennoch erstaunlich modern wirkenden Mittelalters fort. In 750 Jahren wurde dieses Juwel der mittelalterlichen Literatur noch nie ins Deutsche übersetzt. »Das Liebesbestiarium" bedeutete seinerzeit eine literarische Revolution in europäischem Maßstab. Richard de Fournival (1201-1260) erkundet darin in gewagten Bildern das Geheimnis des Eros und findet für die Liebe eine neue, unerhörte Sprache. In seiner Beschwörung der angebeteten Frau entwirft er einen magischen Liebeszoo zwischen Einhorn und Phönix, Schwalbe und Pantherweibchen, phantastischen und realen Tieren. Er provoziert damit die entschiedene Antwort einer - anonym gebliebenen - selbstbewussten Frau, einen der ersten feministischen Texte überhaupt. Ralph Dutli hat auch diesen Text übersetzt und dem von Fournival hinzugefügt. »Das Liebesbestiarium" ist ein leuchtendes Monument in der Geschichte des Nachdenkens über die Möglichkeiten der Liebe zwischen Mann und Frau, über die Unterschiedlichkeit ihres Begehrens, über Passion und Verfallenheit, Hoffnung und Verzweiflung, Gedächtnis und Liebestod.
