Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) are disorders characterized by progressive loss of neurons and may finally lead to severe impairments even death. NDs are age-dependent disorders, growing evidence suggests that nearly all aged brains exhibit characteristic changes that are associated with neurodegeneration. As the global rapidly aging population, the prevalence of NDs is which have become the most dreaded disease of aged people. Studies report that the expenses of these older patients with NDs exceed the total medical expenses of patients with cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
