The term big data refers to extremely large sets of data that are analyzed to reveal insights, such as patterns, trends, and associations. The algorithms that analyze this data to provide these insights must extract value from a wide range of data sources, including business data and live, streaming, social media data. Johann Christian Hallmann war als Redner bei Trauerfeiern in den 1670er Jahren in Breslau sehr gefragt, so dass er sie als Musterreden in der Sammelausgabe von 1684 auch einem breiteren Lesepublikum offerieren konnte. Beigegeben wurden auch seine zu denselben oder anderen Anlassen entstandenen Toten-Gedichte (Epicedien). Die Edition bietet die Reden und Gedichte nach der Ausgabe 1684 mit den Lesarten der zahlreich erhaltenen Einzeldrucke. Außerdem enthält der Band die Willkommensrede an den Bischof von Breslau, Friedrich Landgraf zu Hessen, die er 1676 im Auftrag der Stände des Fürstentums Breslau gehalten hat.
