I deleted my first review because I felt bad about being so unkind. Let's just say I really didn't like this book and my apologies to the author but I would never recommend it to someone I like. It's teenage hormones at their worst!!! These characters trash each over constantly and have NO respect for human decency or what is appropriate. They're selfish and idiotic and unkind and don't consider anyone's feelings but their own :( and they loooooove drama. Thumbs down from me.

This book took me on an emotional ride. Molly made me extremely angry for half of the book, but I loved the ending. I love how it shows how you don't need a guy if you have amazing friends. I would totally recommend this book to anyone. I love the domino effect included within the plot.

I initially picked this up because I'm a sucker for a good love triangle from time to time and the premise sounded really fun but I felt so let down? There are SOO many things wrong with 99 Days from the constant slutshaming, the unlikable characters, the lazy writing, the cheating, and Cotugno's lack of direction with the story. That being said, I had an overall fun experience while reading it because the drama just kept me interested the whole time. I will say if you're not keen on cheating this book isn't for you at all since that's literally the ONLY thing that goes on in all 376 pages. There are no real likable characters either except for Imogen (who I'd rather read a whole book about) which was so hard to read since I'm someone who enjoys character based books. In the end, it was nothing special or noteworthy but I am interested in picking up the companion novel!

First of all its 3:28am so I'm super tired but I had to finish this book. I'm not gonna lie I'm a little bummed. I get why it ended how it did but I'm still a little upset about it and the main character honestly annoyed the crap out of me. HOWEVER this book does have a decent message (Stop slut shaming!) This review is really short and all over the place because it's 3:30am so that's just what we're gonna get today.

This book made me angry!

The protagonist, Molly, just kept making the same mistakes. None of the characters had any development. 
I knew what was going to happen since the beginning of the book, but I kept reading because I had hope that maybe I would be wrong. NOPE. I was correct. I really did want to love this book, the plot intrigued me, but I just can't. 

The plot was jumpy. I was confused often about when something was a flashback or not. Also the ending! Nothing was resolved. NOTHING. She literally just hut the people around her again and then left. Again. 

There were so many times when I would just groan and roll my eyes because of something Molly was doing, or thinking. I think I could have enjoyed this more if there was a different protagonist. I just kept getting too angry at Molly to really enjoy this book at all.

it's was okay , i didn't sympathize with Molly AT ALL or any other character in this book, pretty much i hated them all and felt like i want to throw the book out of the window most of the times ,however i liked the writing style and the realness of the events .

The main character was hard to root for during most of the book, but I think that makes the narrative so much more special. Many people have gone through a similar path where you’re selfish and hurtful to those around you before changing your ways. Main characters do not have to be likeable to be relatable, and her compelling story about two brothers using her as some sort of trophy to be won (but society only caring about HER actions) was heartbreaking. I absolutely loved the ending!

I really enjoyed this! I think many may be turned off by the very realistic tone of this novel, but I found it refreshing, heart breaking, and liberating.

The novel tore apart Molly's relationship with basically everyone in Star Lake, especially the three siblings Julia, Gabe, and Molly's once boyfriend, Patrick. After a year at boarding school Molly has to spend 99 days back in Star Lake, counting the minutes to college and a new start. Forced back into a life where everyone blames her for what happened, can Molly find forgiveness, move on, or even start something new with Gabe? Or start something back up with Patrick?

That is basically the premise, but this novel takes on a lot more. Molly's big secret is that she hooked up with her long time boyfriend Patrick's brother Gabe. She confessed only to her mother, who then turned it into a novel that everyone read. The thing I loved about 99 Days is Cotugno's confrontation of the huge double standard of slut shaming on girls. Everyone is mad at MOLLY, not Gabe. Only Molly gets chased out of town, only Molly gets her car keyed, her house egged. And shoot, Molly did do wrong, but she isn't the only one to blame here.

Molly is also not a very likeable character all of the time. She makes big, huge mistakes and gets right smack dab back into a triangle with the two brothers, but this is what I loved about this book. This felt real. Life isn't all soul mates and butterflies. High school relationships get ugly, and this book showed that to its max. Molly is really torn between two people, and yes, she is being selfish and full of hormones, but again that is how it goes sometimes. 

The ending of this book was just perfect. No fairy tale, not happily ever after. Just a girl finally being done playing in a zero sum game with two boys who didn't have her best interest at heart. Bravo.
