This is my third Agatha Christie, and definitely ranks behind And Then There Were None and Orient Express. Still a good read, Marple is cool.

The three words I would use to describe this book are outstanding, fabulous, and amazing! You will never guess the ending. Agatha Christie leads you in different directions only to completely go off the rails and surprise you. Not even for a second did I think the book would turn out the way it did. It blew me away entirely! How can someone create a fantastic book that keeps you second guessing who the killer is? Don't miss out on an opportunity to read this book.

Ah. Was good yes yes. But probably my least favourite out of hers. But like it’s miss Christie so obv her worst (imo) is still good. Anyway um. Yes I guessed it. Like who but not the who identity who. You’ll understand if you read it. First introduction to Miss Marple, she’s cool, very different from Poirot but we didn’t see a lot of her in this one anyways.

This is the fifth book in the Miss Marple series and my second read from Agatha Christie. I totally enjoyed And Then There Were None (ATTWN) so I've decided to read more of Christie's novels and luckily, three of my favorite bookstagramers are hosting #QueenofCrimeReadalong, an Agatha Christie-themed readalong,

"A murder is announced and will take place on Friday, October 29th, at Little Paddocks, at 6:30 p.m. Friends accept this, the only intimation."

Just like the residents of Chipping Cleghorn, I bet you'll also get nosy once you've read this announcement. You will also think that this must be a "murder game".

The residents begin to arrive and at exactly 6:30, the lights turned off. A person with a torch enters and three shots are fired. When the lights turned on, a dead guy with a mask is lying on the floor with a revolver on his side. Did he commit suicide? Or someone shot him?

Interesting characters and brilliant plot twists. The writing style is really impressive and easy to read. I think it's quite hard if the reader is trying to solve the mysteries and understand big words/symbols at the same time.

Just like with ATTWN, I almost suspected every one and it turned out that the very first person I suspected is the real "murderer". Yay for me!

Since this book is a part of Miss Marple series, I was expecting to see more of her. I was a little disappointed because she was not really mentioned until Chapter 8 (maybe it's supposed to be like that.) but I can say that I enjoyed her way of "investigating".

I loved the ending but I was hoping that the "suspect" will tell his/her side of the story. I think it'd be more interesting to know his/her own reasons instead of Miss Marple and Inspector Craddock connecting all the clues. Also, I was quite shocked when I read the word "Pussies" (like "The super Pussy of all old Pussies.") but then, this novel was originally published in 1950 where the definition of this word is totally different from what we know today.

A Murder is Announced shows us how powerful money is and how it can change a person. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Read this book and...

my last christie was a tad bit of a letdown but here we are again with a wonderfully written mystery! one of my favorite parts about christie books is the diverse set of characters(in terms of personality, not so much everything else but i’ll let that go since they were written quite a while ago) and how she always manages to add the most witty, tongue in cheek comic relief in midst of the suspense. i get bored really easily so having such bits really helps me to keep invested. 
i kinda started guessing the culprit towards the last 1/3 of the book but nevertheless the ending was still great. the epilogue was the perfect conclusion to this amusing ms marble adventure.

An invitation to partake in a "murder" at the home of Letitia Blacklock comes as a surprise to Letitia's friends--and a bigger surprise to Letitia herself. When the lights go down, a gunshot rings out. Now, Miss Jane Marple wants to play a game of whodunit. Reissue.

There are two stories in this book, but I only have finished Murder on Orient Express. 
I am buddy reading with a friend, and it was sooo much fun!

I am not gonna say much. But Agatha is GENIUS.
Murder on Orient Express is another brilliant story from her. 
It is thoughtfully and beautifully crafted. 
Oh.. and I LOVE POIROT.

I really want to watch the movie when it came out! <3
