And here I thought that the first book was intense. shakes head I clearly was not ready. This sequel makes the first one look like Disney. Holy crap, it was so incredibly intense. I was shocked. Who knew Anne Rice could write such things. My word. 

Okay, enough of me acting like a prude. So this book takes place right after the first one. Beauty is sent to the Village to learn how to be a proper love slave. She is considered very naughty and needs to learn how to behave and to give in to her Masters/Mistresses. 

The Village is dreaded among the Princes and Princesses. It was very rough and punishment is required daily. The slaves are sold off at auctions and then, for three months to three years depending how pissed off the Queen is at them, they are taught how to be good boys and girls and serve their Masters/Mistresses. The Village is designed to break the slaves' will and make them want to serve. 

This book is incredibly intense, as I have mentioned previously. I mean, nothing is left to the imagination. I would honestly only recommend this series for those that are experienced in reading books of this nature. I'm not kidding. I was not prepared for the amount of....descriptions. I'm laughing at myself because I'm trying to write a family friendly review of a super dark BDSM book. 

I give up. Just prepare yourself for the dark world that Anne Rice has created in this series.

In a way this book was better than the first in the trilogy. It was maybe more exciting, but I would have liked there to be more Beaty's point of views than Tristan's. On okay book though and it got better towards the end and now I can't wait to read the next book.
