This book was good. Nothing amazing, but it was really good.

Well. This book.
I’m reviewing it a couple weeks after I read it.
And I can’t really remember strongly liking or disliking anything about it.
The premise was intriguing, and I liked the way the romance developed, but I can’t remember the name of the love interest. Kelly? Megan? Something like that?
Anyway, the romance was real subtle, and it WASN’T the answer to everything! Which of course I liked, because books like to pretend that if you fall in love, all the ills in your life will be cured. But they won’t. In fact, relationships cause as many problems as they solved, and this book showed that, but it also showed that they were going to try to work through it. And they weren’t declaring to love each other for all eternity, which was good as well, because lets face it. They’re teenagers. They’re probably gonna break up.
That’s about all I remember liking, though.
I remember the plot fine.
Oh, and I remember Joe Jr. I loved him.
But that’s it.
And that’s okay. This book did not have a huge impact on me, and that’s fine.

For the first few chapters I wasn't sure if I was going to love this book. The language and characters felt a bit off, but midway through, I was sold. Gerald, the main character really grew on me as his own story fleshed out. A solid 4 stars.

And I am now done with it! Omg, A.S. King is such a good writer. I love this book, but Everybody Sees the Ants is my absolute favorite so far. I've yet to read her other two books, Please Ignore Vera Dietz and Ask the Passengers.
