the analysis on compulsory heterosexuality was flawless in this paper, if i do say so myself. rich writes how all women are conditioned into such system and that heterosexuality and femininity that we know of are not natural to women and that they are product of violent patriarchy and men’s desire to control women.

a must read if you want to have a better understanding of lesbian and feminist theory and how they are intertwined. it does have it’s problems and some arguments are dated, but in general it’s a really decent read and a really good analysis worth checking out.

minus one star for exclusive languaging (1980’s) but holy wow is this A Lot to unpack. god bless lesbian existence
