I thought this was a very enjoyable mystery. First of all, it had a great number of twists, which made for a fun guessing game. No, I did not figure out the murderer before Poirot, and I applaud Agatha Christie for foiling my attempts once again. Secondly, this book is also featuring Ariadne Oliver - a gem of a character. I am loving her quirkiness and loud personality. Besides, something tells me Christie made her out to be a caricature of herself. Thirdly, Poirot suffers greatly in this one from his ultimate enemy - lack of comfort. He is forced to stay at an inn, a hostess of which fails miserably at housekeeping, cooking, and common sense. I laughed out loud whenever poor Poirot was forced to flee blooded vegetables, muddy coffee, rough bed, clutter, or a litter of dogs. Mrs. McGinty's Dead  is written with such cheek, I cannot help but single it out as one of the more successful novels by Christie.

It started very slow and introduced so many characters at once, i got them mixed up sometimes throughout the book. The mistery was very complex and messy, not what i expected. Overall good

Awesome. She does this thing, atleast from what ive gathered of the books I read from her, where like the 30-40 first pages are a slow intro and then !!boom!! First hint, it really starts. 
Overall, she never disappoints.

At this point I've read so many Christies that the thing that makes them stand out are interesting, layered or funny characters. This one failed to pull me in in that sense, so I found it a little boring. I enjoyed the mystery and the different track and varied investigation it took, but overall I don't think this one was particularly special

Each one I read becomes my new favorite. Love the cozy. I enjoy the game. I absolutely knew who done it from early on, but with these books, the ride is definitely as important as the destination.
