Hickory Dickory Dock A Hercule Poirot Mystery

I'm a prettying open-minded person when it comes to books being the product of their age, and don't let such things distract me from the meat of the story. That said, Hickory Dickory Dock takes some kind of special cake in prejudices against foreigners and cartoony stereotypes. Even for Agatha this is a new kind of record. Oh, Agatha... you and your racism. Anyway, I am giving this story only three stars, because even the plot wasn't all that hot - organized crime in detective fiction just doesn't appeal to me as much as the crime of passion. The ending is pretty twisty though, and sort of redeems the dragged out middle. The structure reminded of the Poirot book I read earlier - After the Funeral, - but with the fun dial turned down way low.

           Lo que me encantaba mas es el "double cross" de Nigel. Al principio, todos pensabamos que no puede ser él porque eso habría sido muy obvio pero eso es lo que etaba al final. Y lo mismo occurio con 

Valeria, cuando ella conféso a Poirot, no pensé que va a tener algo a ver con el asesinato de Celia pero sí, ella lo tenía...

Y porqué matar a la señorita Nicoletis?!

Yo, personalmente, creí que va a ser el "novio", pero négo esto cuando él empiezo a defenderla (porque, de nuevo, habria sido tan obvio) peeero cuando digo "novio" no quiero decir Colin necesariamente, no, puede ser alguna figura asi, tal vez, alguien a quien le gustaba Celia por celos o algo asi... Y despues, creí que quiza va a defenderle a esa persona, en turno, la persona que le ama a él, una de las chicas por supuesto, no sé... y tambien sospeché la señorita Hubbard, no sé porque, pero ella estaba muy amable, tan encantadora que se volvió sospechosa.

Lo que me pareció un poco raro es que Poirot no era tan activo en esta novela como de costumbre, no sé, quiza sea solo yo.

Well, this was good, but not half as good as her other books I've read. I was bored a lot and only the twist other than the murder intrigued me. I kinda figured it'd be that one who was doing it and I've NEVER guessed or even had a correct hunch on the murderer. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. But even then, it is still better than any other mystery by any other author. 

Long live the Queen of Crime. (In our memory ofc.)

It was a great mystery though not the best. I felt there was less of Poirot's appearances in the novel. Loved all the characterizations and the writing, of course, gets you hooked right from the first page.
