I understand this book has its own audience. But as I am not well versed with English folklore/slang/literature, it was an exceptionally difficult book to follow. I recognise that in order to appreciate the book deeply, I need to be equipped with experiences and feelings that Garner has grown up with, which makes it a task to interpret all the metaphorical details - which I assume are aplenty.
