This was an absolutely amazing book! When I first picked it up, I figured it would be more like Alice in Wonderland, since that's what the title was a play on. it was nothing like Alice in Wonderland though! The story and plot was unlike any I had ever read or even heard of before!

It was a truly amazing book with great story and character development. All of the characters were realistic, along with the very world itself.

There's no doubt that anyone who read this book, would absolutely love it! Its got the romance and the action and a little bit of drama all mixed into one killer story! I can't wait for book two to come out!

Initially, it took me a long time to get into this book. At times it felt all over the place. However, by the last chapter, I was in love. I have personal reasons for loving this book, a certain character is going through something my best friend is going through, which makes that character my favourite and this book went from 3 stars to 5 in an instant.

I love this book! I can honestly say that I will recommend this book to kids above the age of 13. I’m the type of person who likes to read books a couple of times to fully understand the story and this story can be read multiple times but there are still things that can be discovered within this book. There are many different aspects of this novel from the sizzling romance to the quirky mystery. I highly recommend this book. Go give it a read and let me know what you think!

           Il libro mi è piaciuto molto più del previsto, lo ammetto! anche se come tutti gli YA non è esente da difetti.
Tipo gli sms scritti in bimbominchiese? perché?! l'autrice crede veramente che i ragazzi di sedici anni scrivano in quel modo? forse le abbreviazioni inglesi suonavano meno sfigate di quelle italiane, perché leggere "ke" non si può davvero, non avrei perdonato nessuno dei personaggi neanche avessero avuto 13 anni figurarsi se ne hanno 16! Alice che addirittura vuole insegnare alla nonna a scrivere in bimbominchiese e si lamenta che non ne vuole sapere... grande nonna!
Gli zombie praticamente non ci sono in tutto il libro, quindi io questa Zombieland non l'ho vista (se vi aspettate zombie e spappolamenti di cervelli rimarrete delusi lol) e i personaggi secondari non parlano e quasi non esistono quando avrei voluto venissero approfonditi molto di più.
Alice non mi resta antipatica come quasi tutte le protagoniste dei libri YA, anche se fa un sacco di scelte sbagliate ( e non trovo né normale né romantico che sogni di ficcare la lingua in gola ad un ragazzo appena visto, per quanto bono questo sia ).
Un libro carino da leggere comunque, verso la fine non riuscivo a metterlo giù quindi immagino che sia un buonissimo segno!

I DEVOURED this book.It had everything that i love; action, romance, the supernatural,minor friend drama, and so on... 

Alice is witty and sarcastic while Cole is your average "i wish i could have him but he's not real" love interest. He and Alice compliment eachother perfectly.I also love Kat and Frosty's relationship.

I don't normally read stories about zombies, but this was a great book. Even though the zombies in this book aren't the traditional ones you normally read about, they can still be called zombies. Authors use many different variations for the creatures in their stories. Take Twilight for example (I know... I can't believe used TWILIGHT as an example...) Stephanie Meyer's vampires dont burn in the sunlight, they sparkle; That doesn't mean that they are not vampires.I personally like the twist that Gena Showalter put on her zombies; it's different.

This book was a great read that I especially liked and really didn't want to put down while I was reading it.

this spinoff to Alice in wonderland was really good. I found this to be very capturing, and I read it in less than a full day. It is more aimed for a younger audience, I would still recommend it for anyone either way.

Okay umm.. so sorry to dash all you people's hopes (those who haven't read it), but THIS IS NOT AN ALICE IN ZOMBIELAND RE-TELLING. There, I said it. I don't see how this is related to Alice at all except the main character's name is Alice and she sees a white bunny in the sky.

This is about zombies so I read it anyways. I must say this is quite an engaging story. It's about Ali Bell, whose parents died and now she must survive on her own. Most people can't see zombies.. which are pure evil that is from the spirit world. 

On the first day of school, she meets Cole Holland and has a vision of them in a hot make out scene. Now, that's kind of weird. Sorta like insta-love don't you think? But I'm not a hater so I kept reading. But Cole has a secret too *oohs in the background*. Yes.. now it's up to Ali to discover what it is. But will she help him? Or stop him?

So I thought this was a pretty decent book. Not many things that I would point out. Through the first half of the book, I was sorta bored. It was around the time that Ali knew what Cole was that the pace picked up and there were some kick-ass scenes. Ali was close to discovering his secret many times but NOO.. she had to be scared and back down. Goodness, his secret was kind of obvious and I was annoyed. 

In the second half of the book, they got to kick some zombie butts!! Woo hoo! Love the second half so much that I read it in one sitting :3 

Overall, this is a really good book. If you can get past the first half, you won't be disappointed!!! Off with their heads!

And oh, yeah, it was totally fine if they wanted to use me as an all-night-dinner buffet, because having organs is SO last year.” 



I loved this book! It definitely was not what I was expecting it to be, it was so much better! 
The book is a fun, easy read and I really enjoyed the authors take on zombies and the white rabbit. She presented zombies in a new and refreshing way, which really made them stand apart from normal book / movie zombies.



The characters are delightful. Alice Bell, the protagonist, is witty and sassy and all things spice. She is a strong lead with a sense of humour, while she makes a few stupid decisions you never feel like punching her in the throat, which is a lovely change from most female MC’s these days. Then there is Cole! Damn! He’s tattooed and buff, what more could you want?!! 

Although my favourite character in the book is Kat, I love her! She is serious best friend goals. 
“Of course.” She fluffed her hair. “I don’t want to brag, but I’m very high maintenance.”

“Uh, I think low maintenance is what’s
desirable.”

“Low maintenance is what’s forgettable. You might want to write that down, underline it, circle it and put a star by it. It’s golden.” With barely a breath, she added, “Now let’s find out if we’re compatible, shall we?” 

This is a well written book that pulled me in from the start. I can not wait to read the rest of this series.

this is a great example of one of the “obey me” and “i don’t ask for consent i just assume it’s there” stories that i read when i was 12 and now i need extensive therapy for thinking it was okay for men to treat me like this! BUT, because i did actually like this when i was a kid with no critical thinking skills (or just … knowing that explicit consent is important), it was’t as triggering as a reread compared to reading stories like this with new characters in 2021 that still never ask for consent (or don’t straight up say “do what i say and don’t ask questions”. cole that’s fucking creepy!!). the fact that i’m familiar with the stories and characters is comforting, but romanticizing creepy guys still is not. truly hate that little me was brainwashed into giving a book that greatly contributed to my future trauma five stars, buttttt because i still have that memory of enjoying this before i was tainted by wanting to read healthy relationships, it’s a three now instead of one. and now i want to finish the series to see if cole gets eaten by a zombie

Oh my goodness where have these books been all my life??? I'm normally not a fantasy genre type of girl but I absolutely loved this book (thank you so much to my husband for randomly picking this up). I loved all of the characters and how relatable they were and how hilarious and sarcastic Alice was. I loved all of the relationships in this book and how detailed the author was, you felt like you were watching a movie instead of reading a book. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Alice in Zombieland follows the life of Alice Bell after a horrific accident which causes her to lose her family, this accident brings to life something that Alice always thought was unimaginable and inconceivable — zombies, however they are not what you would expect to be a zombie, instead they are ghost like creatures that eat your soul! This novel follows her adventures post accident, with some flashbacks to pre-accident; while reading you begin to see Alice come to terms with what the world really is like around her, you see her become a Zombie Killing machine and learn about her new relationships, friendships and connections.

If you pick up this book and expect it to represent the traditional Alice in Wonderland, but with Zombies, you will be severely disappointed. however if you are looking for a young adult dystopian read about a girl who is forced to face her worst fears and who comes into the world around her this will be the book for you. Overall it was a pretty great book, it looked at a lot of dark dystopian themes that are not for the faint of heart though!

Woowza does Gena Showalter know how to write a master piece! I honestly cannot believe I did not pick this book up sooner, I mean I wish I picked it up the moment it came out! What is wrong with me! Gena has written a compellingly mad story with twists and turns around every turn and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out! 

I at first thought that this would be another retelling of Alice in Wonderland with some zombie twists and it was nothing of the sort. Which is perfectly okay with me, as I was not a fan of Alice in Wonderland. However, I did pick up on a few Alice in Wonderland traits: such as the white rabbit, the title of the book, and even the title of the chapters. 

All Alice wanted was a normal birthday for one. She did not want to be locked up in the house like they usually were, she just wanted to give her sister something as a birthday gift for herself. However, what she did not know was the consequences of her decisions. Alice has lived with a deranged father for years - thinking he can see the monsters that lurk beyond the household - and she would like nothing more than to escape the strangeness. Heck, she is afraid to date anyone in fear that they would be embarrassed to be seen with her! 

Alice, truly was everything a female protagonist should be! She was smart, she had a goal, and she wanted revenge. I loved every moment of hers. Alice was one of those characters were you could honestly picture her right in front of you and see every detail of the anatomy down to the last freckle. Alice's story is very compelling, she has been dealt a fatal blow and the only thing she wants now is to find out if she is crazy or not. If those monsters that her father has been so keen on destroying are actually real. 

I guess that's where the hottie of the hottie's comes in - Cole Holland. I have never had such a big crush on the male protagonist since Damon Black from the Lux Series - as many of you know he is my bae. But Damon's competition is Cole! I mean Cole is a downright badass, with a sweet side? And of course there is this weird, abnormal, crazy connection that he and Alice share. I mean it is seriously weird, like supernatural weird. 

The plot was immensely thought and planned out to the tea. I do not think there was anything missing. At the last page I was left satisfied and ready to continue on with the next adventure - Through the Zombie Glass. The sexiness, the charasmatics, and the drama is what drove me through this book! Of course then there is the zombie's that also drove me to the end. These zombies are not your original zombie's, I will warn you of this now.

If you have not picked up this book I suggest that you get your rotting zombie butts moving to the bookstore and pick up this badass adventure!!
