EDIT: I posted this before I was aware that the author pushed the release date, changed the name to “The Princess Stakes”, and is editing the story so this review is not a review of the newer, edited version. I will be reading that one as well as I have really loved some of her other books and this one did not feel at all like her other works. I’m curious what has changed and so forth, so I’ll be giving it another go. My previous review is NOT a review of the newer version that has yet to be released. I will be deleting it as I’ve read her statement and want to give the book a fair shot without adding to what has already been said. If I had known it was going through a rewrite I would not have read and reviewed this book until the newer version was released out of respect to the work she is putting into this book to make it right.
