I listened to this as an audiobook. I found it to be heart breaking and interesting. The relationship Amanda formed with her captor was complex and she was so strong to survive this experience. I did not know a lot about this story, despite it being on the news when she escaped. It was interesting to learn more details. I cried hearing her recount the birth of her baby, and I was on edge holding my breath as she told about the day she escaped.

Had so many emotions reading this book. From anger to happiness towards the ending. This is also an insight as to how the law enforcement system, media and society could sometimes fail us but also how the same systems bring the broken back to life.
