Sometimes, I'm not sure if I should read a prequel of a series first, or after I start getting into the series. But it worked out fine to read this first. (I mean...that's why it's a prequel, right?)

This novella was packed full of action and was nicely written. And that COVER!!! *drools* 

Actually, ALL of the covers in this series are amazing! Call me a shallow artist, but they are the main reason why I'm reading this series. Golly jeepers. 

This story is quite tragic--lots of death, destruction, and regret, yet, also beauty and redemption. It's not a long enough book to do a huge review on, but I'm very curious to see where our characters will be headed in the sequel, Winter Queen.
