I was very disappointed in this book. It was purportedly about the history of zero, but in actuality, it was just about a quest to find the oldest rock with a zero on it. It did talk somewhat about how our civilization developed and evolved the concept of zero and the characters for it, but that took a far back seat to finding an old rock. What could have been an interesting and useful book to help us understand how the concept of zero was powerful, and how it spread, became a pursuit of artifacts.
