All I can say is wow!! This is one of the most interesting books I've ever read. The world that Angel built is so detailed and thoughtful, you can truly imagine a place like Serendee existing.  And that just makes it that more thrilling and terrifying to read. 

Our MC is Imogene, who grew up in Serendee. Her mother shamed the family and the community by "regressing" and leaving the cult. When she comes of age, Imogene is shocked to be matched with the cult leader Anex's son Rex. 

However, her expectations are shattered when Rex declares his disbelief in Serendee and it's ways. She is forced to question everything she always thought to be right and learn how to please a man who's only interested in a "secular" lifestyle. Imogene has been warned that it's her mission to bring Rex back on board so he can be a true heir to Anex. 

In comes Rex's closest friends and confidants, Elon, Silas and Levi. They are tasked with helping teach Imogene to be a good mate for Rex. That involves touching her and interacting with her in ways which bring her both shame and exhilaration. And damn, I felt exhilarated too because these guys are complicated, dangerous,  conflicted... and hot with a capital H. What happens when her teachers begin to notice her more than just as a student? What happens when they expose her to things she knows she shouldn't want, but does? 

Nothing is as it seems in Serendee. Anex is a perfect cult villain, charming and devout on the outside but sinister underneath. Rex is a different type of villain, cold, harsh, angry and itching for redemption. Imogene is caught in the middle... 

There are some dark moments in this book, specifically some dub-con, so check triggers before reading. 

I couldn't put this down! Read this book, read it now, you won't be disappointed.
