Although Hunt loads the front half of the novel with repugnant religiosity on purpose, I simply could not stomach. I grew up in a church and school where things mentioned in the first half of the book were all too familiar and as I mentioned earlier, repugnant. I totally agree with the ultimate point Hunt made through the protagonist's son, I simply could not get over the distasteful hump that is the repugnant religiosity of the first half.
This book did not survive round two of the purge from my personal collection.
