I found the writing so descriptive I felt I was there. I loved Nicky and I loved this book.

The writing of this book was great. I got a clear picture in my head of what was going on. However, the plot was sort of bland in its entirety. 

When a father and his daughter find an abandoned infant in the  snow, the event forever alters the 11-year-old's understanding of the world.
