What an interesting story. 
I've been a fan of the TV series since the first episode I saw and I was very eager to read the books. 
The story plot is interesting and although it's very thorough and there is a lot of detail, it still manages to stay interesting. I for one, never thought about the murderer as the murderer and I was really surprised at the end. The story plot does keep you guessing and to me that is a good sign. 
All the characters are interesting and like in every good British murder mystery, they all have good backstories and secrets. I would have liked there to be more Vera in the picture. Now, probably 2/3 of the book is in someone else's point of view and I would have liked more Vera in everything. However, once you got past the beginning this book kind of swept me into its depths and I enjoyed the story immensely. 
Overall, the book is really good and I can't wait to read more Vera Stanhope books.
