what’s so funny is that her mom literally kidnaps her, gaslights her, lies about her life, opens up about her marriage was a sham and that she was in love w her ex?, ran back to her ex after gaslighting her daughter, leaves her daughter to go back w her ex?now bf?,,, um.... yeah emma is so sad and alone and everyone she loved left her. 

so funny so funny idk this whole thing is a mess considering her mom was stalking her in the first book.

The plot was good. In fact, better than in the last book. It kept me at the edge of my er... couch. But, I think the weak point of this installment is the characters. The main character. Sure, she was super badass when it was the time to be, when it mattered, but to get there, I had to wade through her muddy, boring thoughts. They were all over the place, and conflictedin places that were just dumb. Emma had the potential of being very likable, but I don't see where her development is. She has the gift of Poseidon. Cool. But I don't see who she is without it. Hobbies? Motivations? A life? Same goes for Galen. 

Overall, not a bad book, but one that needs a little work.

As far as second books in series go, I really enjoyed this one. I thought it still included a lot of world building with a focus becoming more apparent on ocean. This book added to the first book nicely while continuing what was established previously. 
I enjoyed the continued growth of the characters and the surprises put in throughout this book. 
Recommended for; people who liked the first book and want to hear more about the workings of the ocean

Of Triton picks up basically right after the major cliffhanger we read about in Of Poseidon. That one really threw me through a loop and let's just say I was very happy that this book was already available for me to read! I noticed right away that it was shorter than Of Poseidon, but that's not exactly a bad thing.

Once again, we get chapters from Emma and Galen's POV. In all honesty, for about the first half of the book Emma's POV really didn't interest me. There wasn't much going on and at times it only felt like she was complaining. It took longer to get to the point when it came to her and that definitely disappointed me.

Galen's chapters were pretty interesting. Emma's mother's appearance in the Syrena world doesn't go over well. It starts some issues between Poseidon and Triton and let's just say things get intense. I noticed I really enjoyed his chapters. I loved reading about the politics under the sea and how things worked there. It's clear Syrena can live long lives, so some rules were still around that didn't make much sense anymore. It was interesting to see how Galen and his family handled this.

Of Triton was a fast read and I enjoyed it very much. In all honesty, I enjoyed it less than Of Poseidon. Like I said, Emma's chapters in the beginning are pretty boring and I missed a bit of the romance between Emma and Galen. It was still there, but it could've been present a bit more. I missed the banter and teasing between the two. I understand there was a lot going on, but the characters we get to know in the first book kind of disappeared.

The ending of Of Triton is action packed and how everything was solved was really interesting. At times it felt a bit rushed. Between the planning and actual moment, it felt like not much had happened. I would've liked to have seen just a bit more time dedicated to this plan. The ending was basically wrapped up, so I'm very curious to see where the third and final book takes me.

All in all, a fast and fun read. Even though the characters were missing some of the things I loved from the first book, I still really enjoyed reading about them. Even the new characters from under the sea were really interesting. I'm definitely happy I didn't leave this one sitting around a long time after reading the first book!

Carino, si legge molto in fretta, ma in alcuni punti è mancato qualcosa :/. Soprattutto sul finale, la narrazione è stata velocissima, l'autrice non si è soffermata ad analizzare alcune scene, che potevano essere decisamente i punti chiave della storia. Sì, è un libro carino, ma niente di più ;)
