Cady wakes up captive in a cabin by two men asking her questions about her parents. When they realize that she won't be giving them any answers, one brings her out to the woods to kill her. Cady cannot remember anything before waking up but by instinct, she uses self defense to disarm and escape from her captive. Men are still looking for her and she has no idea why. She meets a young man, Ty, who wants to help her figure out what is happening to her and why. The two begins their own hunt for the truth. But will they survive long enough to find it out?

This book was a great, quick read. The action was non-stop and engaging. Cady was a great character...intelligent and brave. Readers will be hooked to find out the truth as Cady does. I recommend this young adult mystery/thriller book.

it was hard to be invested in Kady, she's just such a flat character. Ty is a typical savior romantic. they know each other for like 3 days. so unrealistic. James is funny but unfortunately is a small part. there's no suspense really it's clear what's going to happen and the plot twists are boring.

The start was fine but it was a downward spiral from the middle onwards

Did book surprised me! Big time! A fastpaced book and it's intense from the first to the last page! The books name really lived up to the expectations!

           Real rating 2.5 stars. I really just think this book is too far out there to really be believable or truly enjoyable (to me, anyway). At first her martial arts capabilities felt too convenient, but then they said she’d been training. But only for 8 weeks. She was somehow good enough to take down a grown man, even if it was by surprise, twice with that little training? Also the fact that the whole thing only takes less than 48 hours is wild to me. For “her little brother got infected by a 3 day virus so these two teenagers have to break into a high security chemical lab that has one unarmed incompetent guard in it” reasons it makes sense but it makes the whole thing feel even less realistic and too fast paced. I feel like, again, personally, if it had been an adult or even young adult with a more fleshed out storyline it would have been better.

Also if they’re the ones building the vaccine shouldn’t they have been able to get vaccines for their kids to ensure they would be okay before all of this started? Would they not have had access to syringes and the vaccine? If it’s that easy for Cady to steal it, that’s a massive oversight. 

Also I lost it at the main villain quipping “there’s an app for that”.

I liked it, it was intense at moments and I just wanted to know what the hell is going on. If the book was any longer it would have dragged because there were lots of moments were the author was repeating herself, which I found very annoying. So keeping the book short was a good idea, if it was any longer I would have lost interest.
