Ok so the beginning (as in approximately the first 40 pages) I sort of liked; it was a little boring, not much happening, but then BAM! (view spoiler)[Klea attacked and I thought "yay exciting!" Then they got to Avalon and "Yay more exciting battling!" But it went on. And on. And on and on and on. Probably over 200 pages of battling. The physical, blood-shedding battling got quite boring very quickly. But then during the battle against time I couldn't put the book down, and then the battle of rights against Queen Marion was awesome and had me grinning ear to ear to whole time. (hide spoiler)] And then the end, with what happened with the love triangle, I was so incredibly pleased with! It made to some-what boring in the middle a little better. And then came the letter. Any time that I got bored throughout the book, it was all made worth it just for that letter at the very end. It made everything very realistic, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I sobbed, both with sadness and joy. The ending was absolutely flawless!
This series is one that I would recommend to anyone with even the slightest taste for fantasy, and maybe even those who don't! It would be a good introduction to the world of YA fantasy, I think

Anyways, the perfect end to a wonderful series! Job well done, Pike!

I cannot even formulate the proper words to describe this book. Never have I been so emotional through a book than I was while reading this. 

I have always respected Laurel, but I often found myself wanting to slap her. Most of these harsh feelings were brought on by the fact that I don’t like Tanami. Yep, I saying it now: I don’t like him, never did, and even though now the series is over, I STILL don’t like him. I don’t know if it’s because of him himself, or the fact that I loved David with Laurel. Both regardless, I don’t like him. 

Now that I made that clear, you can imagine that every time Laurel and Tamani decided to make out, I was pulling out my hair. I hated how she treated David and I would have been satisfied if Chelsea and him ended up together instead, but alas, Miss Pike threw us another curveball there with David’s heart felt, heart wrenching, tear jerking, letter at the end. I was so sad after reading it 

The book itself was more than I imagined it to be. I started reading it and could not stop. Be warned, if you read this novel, you will experience a range of emotions including happiness, joy, sadness, anger, fear, and if you are a David fan like me, you will cry and cry, but that’s ok, don’t let people tell you that’s weird :P haha

Destined was an amazing and emotional roller coaster. I am sad that Laurel’s adventures are now over but do look forward to anything Ms Pike publishes in the future.

I absolutely loved that extra ending with David's letter. It was so beautiful and touching in my mind, but so bittersweet. I personally think it would have been perfect as the real ending, but alas, that was not the case. I'm only going to gush about that perfect letter because overall, the book kind of dragged around at some parts, and then the end tried to, but not quite, make up for it. A good read, though a bit disappointing as a finale of the series. (That whole, OMG what on earth am I going to do without my One True Love???, completely annoyed me. Although it might have worked if I felt that Laurell and Tamani had chemistry, which did not show in the book at all.) The only thing that made up for the book was David's letter, which on its own, I would give a solid 5 stars.
