Aw, started off so promising but the second act just mostly made me cringe.

it might be that I had to read this for school but I didn't like this all that much. Maybe because it was so short it seemed that nothing much happened in act 1 and then lots of stuff that was pretty inevitable happened in act 2. I did like the most of the characters though, especially Mr Alferi. I also like how the plot was based on a true story.

Eddie Carbone is a longshoreman and a straightforward man, with a strong sense of decency and of honour. For Eddie, it's a privilege to take in his wife's cousins, straight off the boat from Italy. But, as his niece begins to fall for one of them, it's clear that it's not just, as Eddie claims, that he's too strange, too sissy, too careless for her, but that something bigger, deeper is wrong, and wrong inside Eddie, in a way he can't face.
