I always read this book in my head as a rant stand up comedy, not unlike what Louis CK and other comedians do. It’s thought provoking and it really gives you an idea of how difficult Schopenhauer was as a person and how interesting his ideas are. 

About the “On Woman” chapter, don’t skip it, you need to know how misogynistic he was to understand most of his pessimistic views.
