Whew! This one took me a while to get through, and I think I realize why as I see it’s title on Goodreads. This was one I downloaded through Amazon First Reads, and I am only just noticing that there are other stories that precede it. It really helps me understand why some of the pieces of the characters’ pasts are only vaguely mentioned. 

I enjoyed this book, but I did find myself zoning out when it came to the technicalities of the action scenes or breakdown of governmental hierarchy. The author really knows his stuff when it comes to these things and he even provides links at the end of the story to help readers do more research of their own. What a plus for those curious enough to dive deeper. 

I have discovered that I am far more into the psychological thrillers after reading this story, but I will tell you that it is very well written, the story unfolds well, and it is wrapped up with a bow at the end. While it is part of bigger stories for at least a few of the characters, it can be easily read and understood as a stand-alone.
