Boosting Boys' Motivation in MFL

This book presents some successful projects inspired by research into boys' under-achievement in Modern Foreign Languages. It describes the use of a range of possibilities for active participation including competitions designed to enhance 'person bests' and the use of ICT. All projects have been trialled with groups of differing ages and abilities and have proven successful in boosting motivation for learning a foreign language and improving self-esteem. Materials, where appropriate, are included to illustrate and further exemplify what has been done.
