In nineteenth century Italy, Bianca, a gifted young watercolour artist, moves to a magnificent villa near Milan following the death of her father. She has been invited by the owner, a famous poet who practices experimental horticulture, to illustrate all of his exceptional plants. Bianca enjoys becoming part of the poet's large family, but before long her naive curiosity will take her far into the territory of hidden secrets, of untold truth and of love ...
