This is a warm little British book that will make you curl your toes in happiness while also righteously depicting elements of emotional abuse, adult relationships, and family drama.

The book started off really slow and I even contemplated DNFing it but I’m glad I stuck it out. While I really didn’t like the writing style (short choppy fragments and absolutely no coherent use of quotation marks which drove me crazy) the story really picked up once the main characters started interacting with each other. I also enjoyed how the heavier topics were explored. Overall ended up enjoying the book but it definitely takes some breaking in to reach that point!

Cute premise, cute story, but I didn’t actually love any of the characters. Plus the book was a hundred pages too long, in my opinion. 

I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t really like it either. I think all the characters seemed very PG and all the side drama - Richie, looking for John White, Katherin, Mo and Gerty getting together, weird upstairs neighbor, Holly, and crazy exes Justin and Kay - were ALL TOO DISTRACTING from the actual romance. Like, after so many pages all I can tell you about Tiffy is that she dresses quirky and her ex boyfriend is a controlling stalker, and Leon is a nurse who works at a hospice and has a brother who was wrongfully imprisoned. But those things were established in the first twenty pages soooooo. 

Oh well. Not bad, but I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone. There are much better adult romances out there.

It took me a while to get into this book, for some weird reason Tiffy made me feel really uncomfortable. I loved Leon and I understood him from the start but I couldn’t with Tiffy. The writing style wasn’t my type of thing and it made it difficult for me to keep reading. I was going to give up most of the way through but I knew I had to finish it. Once I got to the end it wasn’t as bad as I thought in the beginning but I wish I loved it more. Loved the storyline but the execution wasn’t there for me.

This book has been on my TBR for so long and I can't believe it took this long to read it. It was such a fun, quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed and have already reread it. It had a very nice pace that never seemed to drag, the characters were written well and they felt like real people. The romance was idealistic and had a very fairytale vibe, it would often give me that silly smile you have when you read a cute scene and would leave me feeling jealous of a fictional couple. There are some heavier topics in the book but they are handled so well and doesn't take away from the romance instead makes it stronger. It is is dual POV which I always love. It doesn't feel forced and adds to the plot really well; it makes the romance even more believable. I would recommend it as a summer garden read for those long hot days. Anyone who enjoys a good chick-flick is bound to love this.

This book was a quick and , fun read that did touch on some pretty hard hitting topics such as toxic relationships. I will say that right from the very beginning of this book I knew exactly where it was going to go. It was so predictable it was honestly as if I was proof reading a book that I had written. With that being said thought, I did still manage to enjoy my time reading this book. I enjoyed the cute little letters the two main characters communicated with and thought is was a sweet enough romance. Definitely a perfect read for the beach day.

So I've officially decided to leave this book without a rating because I am simply the wrong audience for it and I feel my opinions are purely enjoyment based rather than quality based.

This book was my first adult romance and it was fun, relaxing and felt like watching a rom com. However, just like rom coms, I found the majority of the characters kind of annoying and unlike rom coms, I had to spend a large amount of time reading their thoughts. 

Tiffy is a nice character but believes she's "quirky" and makes a big thing of it. While yes, she certainly an individual unlike the typical "I'm not like other girls" character, anyone who can seriously refer to themselves with that adjective immediately has me rolling my eyes.

I liked Leon but the style choice of short sentences and no personal pronouns for his characters was tiresome to read. I understand what the author was trying to achieve here and it was nice to see someone play around with character and style this way but it was uncomfortable to read. Leon's speech may have sounded this way, but I refuse to believe anyone's inner monologue would. 

Overall, the story had a good balance of romance and other personal dramas which kept it realistic. At times things felt a little forced with how they fell together but that is my only complaint plot wise. 

This book still made me smile, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
