Goodbye is hard sometimes because the action of leaving is so permanent, and yet that person still occupies so much of the space within your chest.

Goodbye isn’t as simple as many make it seem; goodbye isn’t really goodbye, not for someone who still cares.

From time to time, trace the scars life has left you. It will remind you that at one point, you fought for something. You believed.

The moment you truly start to believe that you are deserving of happiness, of love, of something bigger than what you have been settling for, your heart weeps a little

that the people who often love the hardest

are the ones who have been hurt the most.

Sometimes, people come into our lives to teach us how to love; and sometimes, people come into our lives to teach us how not to love. How not to settle, how not to shrink ourselves ever again. Yes, sometimes people leave—but that’s okay, because their lessons always stay, and that is what matters. That is what remains.

No, they didn’t leave you because they didn’t love you.

They left you because they didn’t love themselves enough to believe that they could be different.

It is easy to love someone when they are perfect, when they are soft and light, when they are filled with hope and happiness. But loving someone when they are wearing their flaws like an apology, when they are breaking down, or when they are carrying hurt within them—that is when it means the most. That is when you must show up for them.

Finally *EXHALES*, after months of reading, I'm carried out with this book.

It took me a while to finish the book, not because it wasn't good or challenging to comprehend.

It's a good book, and I took my time mainly because I wanted to soak up every moment.

Everything felt comforting. I felt seen and heard, like a child listening to her elder sister's warm advice. The advice never felt overbearing. This is what I require in a self-help book. It validates my feelings while also laying out solutions that that could possibly help me through what I'm experiencing.

It made me want to live for a little longer : )

A book that helped me to really focus on self-love and my own worthiness in this world.
I found myself highlighting every page of it.

i guess this book found me in a wrong place (or idk). inconsistencies and redundancy in the writing style made it quite dull for me to pursue on reading. still i gave it a 2.5 since i was able to pick up a few pieces i could apply on my own. :)

I feel like this is one of those poetry collections that you need to read at the right time you can’t force it but when you know, you know. 
There’s a particular poem that I enjoyed the most. It just made me feel a little less sad about certain things. 
Page 103 is the full poem but this is an extract that I particularly felt deep in my chest:

“Love will not save you. But it will hold your hand while you save yourself.”

This book sinks below your skin and forces you to reflect and feel. 

It’s such a wonderful read and honestly I felt far lighter afterwards.

This is a book that I wish I read during my heart break moments back then. This book is encouraging, it strengthen you, it make you feel less lonely. This book is like a friend that speaking right to your ears and tell you that even though everything look sucky at the moment, sooner or later you will be okay again, and you will get through it. And that healing take times, no matter how long that is, the important thing is to not punish ourselves :) To take all the time that we need to heal, to feel strength back again.
