White and Deadly Sugar and Colonialism

Analyzes the history of sugar cultivation in terms of cultural colonization and its post-colonial transformations, interweaving factors such as sugar production and consumption and plantation economies with the complex cultural transformations initiated by the tropical sugar industry.
