I dislike this book. I am very disturbed that this book has a "happy go lucky" feel to it. A seventeen year old girl is pregnant, left at wal-mart and everyone comes, pats her on the back and helps her to her feet. This book is just giving false hope for girls. If you fuck up and run away with someone who doesn't love you, you brought that on yourself and YOU have to make it better. The protagonist in this story is very aggravating to read about because she doesn't do anything for herself. Even after her child was born, someone had to literally come to her and give her a job, no effort from her. I hate writing bad reviews and calling a book out, but i was so excited to read this book that it angers me on how it turned out.

I first saw the movie to this book years and years ago, not knowing it was book. I learned about the adaptation recently and decided to pick it up. I think the only reason the resting is low is because I saw the movie first. I love the movie with my whole heart, so I had high expectations. I think it just kind of fell flat for me.

A feelgood story about home which I am glad I read. There were some interesting Q&As with the author at the end of the book that gave more insight to the story.
