This is by far one of the best history books written for children that I have ever read. The book contains copious period illustrations which break up the text into fairly un-intimidating chunks to aid the child reader. The text is simple without being dumbed down. In fact, I even learned a few things related to the devastating famine that I was unaware of before.
I highly recommend this book, especially for those parents looking to further their child's historical education.
