Guuuu…please don’t be mad at me for only reading this book now…..u_u (I just learned that this was a sad face :P). Tammara Webber’s Easy was one of the first books I read when I first picked up reading as a serious hobby back in 2012. I definitely remember reading it around the same time I read Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster. When reading Easy, all from Jacqueline’s POV I fell in love with Lucas/Landon, WHATEVER! Now reading Breakable, his back-story and POV of the events in Easy, I’ve definitely come to love him more as a bad-boy with a golden heart. And from what I recall, I think this is one of the few books I’ve read that take place in the present timeline and have flashback chapters which was very, very interesting.

Landon Lucas had a bright future ahead of him. He was talented, had a loving family to support him. But all of that changed when tragedy struck and Landon’s life changed forever. As a teen, he went through his rebellious phase, getting beat up, getting into fights, and straying away from his one promising future. Now an adult, he’s determined to do everything he can to clean up this mess and help this one girl who he thinks, can save him.

I will admit that this was not one of my favourite reads this year… I don’t know what it was, I liked Easy well enough, I should have liked Breakable. Maybe I just wasn’t in a good place (mentally), when I picked this book up and just felt like I couldn’t get into it. Also, me and my dumb self was really confused between the present POV and the past POV that I didn’t realize the story was being told from Lucas and Landon’s POV. A-DURRRRRR….. I think I realized that like…1/4 into the book.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Lucas/Landon, WHATEVER and I loved getting to know his entire back-story in this book and how it wasn’t just…the entire book just written in his POV with a few extra chapters. That would have been displeasing. I definitely looked forward to reading about his past rather than his present. Almost everything was the same as in Easy, except we got to know what he was thinking as he portrayed both characters.

I don’t know what it is about reading a book in female POV and then male POV but considering I had read the first book over a year before I read the sequel, I found myself trying to remember what happened in Jacqueline’s POV in comparison what was going on in Lucas’. I was so focused on “What happened, what’s different” rather than just getting lost in the book, which is usually why I wait for a series to finish. But when I first read Easy I had no idea Webber would write a followup.

All in all, Breakable is a wonderful companion novel that I think should be read after the first book. Again, maybe I just wasn’t in the mood to read it, or maybe it just felt a little long, but it was still a very enjoyable read, and one of the few books I’ve read that gave a thorough history of the male. Personally, I think I’d like Lucas a lot more than Landon ;)

This follows the story of Lucas/Landon who struggles with his past and struggles to see his future. 
Lucas is broken that is easy to see, but he is sweet despite the fact that he never sees himself that way. I personally enjoyed this more than Easy, but both books are wonderful. I like his character development and how complex of a character is. I definitely appreciate how in the end his life is still not perfect but is struggling to regain balance. I loved how it didn't only focus on the romance but rather on the family aspect and how he was struggling after such a traumatic event.

This was so freaking good. I loved learning the other side of the story. *sigh* I love Lucas.

My love for this book is slightly wavering. Though I simply adored Landon/Lucas in Easy, it was quite different getting the inside scoop on him at this level. I thought this would just be a retelling of Easy, which I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did. I mean, really Tammara Webber can do no wrong in my book, so I knew I would enjoy the story, I was just a bit hesitant. But immediately I was pleased to see that this story was so much more than that. This was Landon’s story.

The chapters flip-flopped between Landon and Lucas, between the past (before Easy) and the present (during Easy). We definitely got a much more personal and fulfilling look into Landon/Lucas on a deeper level, which just increased my love for him even more. Let’s just say he didn’t have an easy life…

I was a bit sad though, as there was something about Easy, with Landon being so mysterious and untouchable, that now I feel like I lost after reading this. I know that probably doesn’t make much sense… it’s just, sometimes I like to keep by “bad boys” bad and mysterious, and not see all the nitty-gritty that defines them. My love for Landon hasn’t changed, I just know more now. And really, that’s okay. :) He struggled with so many things… the loss of his mother being the biggest. Even though I wanted to keep him as this enigma in my mind, it was also nice to see his softer, sweeter, even vulnerable side.

If you read Easy and enjoyed it, and instantly fell for Landon as I did, you should definitely read Breakable and find out more about our boy. It’s most definitely worth the read. (Psst, and if you like audiobooks, PLEASE go the audiobook route!!! Zachary Webber = best NA narrator ever!)

Audiobook Impressions:
Oh, Zachary Webber, you can do no wrong in my eyes. Though I received a copy of this book for review, as soon as I heard it was ZW that narrated it (narrating his mother’s book… how cool is that!) I knew I HAD to download the audio and listen to it, rather than read it. Zachary Webber is one of my very favorite NA narrators. Aside from his perfect, sexy voice, he always performs the story beautifully, catching every emotion exactly as I feel it was meant to be felt. I can’t recommend books that Zachary has narrated enough. I think I will read everything he does, just because it’s him. <3 *End gushing ZW love fest now*
