The character development and the plot was amazing in this. Like wowowow. I think the reason Mac was so mean was that she wasn't accepting herself. Queer plot! Yay! I also loved how they brought back old characters from previous volumes. I also love how the writers add unique and original things to the universe and time travel stuff. Although, I got sad that they got seperated at the end but I know that they will somehow find their way back to each other in future volumes. Can't wait for Volume 6.

Even if it is confusing at times, you still want to read more. I love seeing the characters meet their old selves or discover new time periods. In the next volume, they go to the future, so I am excited about that. I also really liked that they added a queer plot to the story, you don't see that very often in books.

I really liked the illustrations and the different futuristic elements in it such as the machines that can see your past or future. I really like the plot and I think the pink-haired lady was that old man's mom, the one that is looking for the girls. I love the way they unravel the plot little by little. Yay!! Im on Volume 4.

I love the illustrations and the plot is very interesting. I like the characters but don't really like Mac. Also, the relationships between the characters are weird? Like, I just can't see them become friends with each other but oh well. I still want to read Volume 2.

With amazing and badass characters it was really good. The plot is interesting and I like that the plot is uncovering little by little. I like the old Erin as well. I hope the girls turn up okay at the end. On to Volume 3.

Pretty great! It reminded me of an all-female Goonies or Stranger Things. Sure, 80s pop culture has been mined pretty heavily in the past couple of years, and this graphic novel sort of wears its inspirations on its ripped denim sleeves, but it's still a very fun twist on retro sci-fi/fantasy.

Although this series has been talked about a bunch since it was launched, I've apparently kept myself under enough of a rock to avoid spoilers.

As we have three volumes now (or fifteen issues), it's time to flesh out the world a bit. Interspersed with the robot fights, is a scene that give us more of a glimpse of the girls' immediate futures, and another that paints a larger picture of time travel and the war that it spawned.

Paper Girls, Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan opens in the present days (2016). The paper girls now like Samurai Jack need to get back to the past — if they can fix things in their future first.

There are two ways to do time travel stories. The first is to make it so the travelers can't visit themselves on the timeline. The other is the oft-repeated meeting of oneself as the timeline unravels.

Mac and the other girls have learned an uncomfortable amount about their personal futures as well as the bigger picture future for the world. At the very personal level, each girl has something they want to avoid or change. This is the volume where they try their stubborn best to change their fate. How successful they are is basically a wash.

Honestly, it's to short to say I disliked it, but also didn't like it... Totally my fault, I had seen it around and didn't really know what it was about, but was curious to read it. The thing is, I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, time travelling or alien type of stories, so it was very unlikely I would enjoy this... and I didn't... The art is very beautiful, but I felt completely uninterested the entire time, despite it being an action packed first volume. I also felt pretty lost and confused for most of the story. I image most things get explained in the next volumes, but again, didn't  like it enough to carry on with the series.

YES! I am so here for all of this woman empowerment! These girls kick ass! This reminded me a lot of Stranger Things and I think that's why I loved it so so much. I loved all the 80's references and the story and the art was just BREATHTAKING. I had to pause every couple of pages to just stare in awe at the beautiful work. Man, I loved this. Can't wait to go buy volume 2!

These are just so good. And so BEAUTIFUL.
I'm still not even quite sure what's happening but it's all so exciting and weird and I'm OBSESSED.
Can't wait to see where else this goes!

i'm honestly confused as to what exactly is happening throughout the story and then the ending. i need connections with who are these characters (other than the main characters) and why are the events that happened in the book happened in the first place.

What a fun adventure set in the late 80s with a bunch of kickass teenage girls! The mystery was intriguing and I can't wait to read the rest.
