A really cool book with an interesting twist of potential non-fiction. I love Brian Selznick and have since I was a kid, so I really enjoyed this short read. His illustrations are always so breathtaking and tie so nicely into the story. I would highly recommend this for young readers and fans of steam punk-esque themes.

Wow, was surprised by the power of this book. I will admit I haven't read any of his others, which I'm guessing will be more satisfying judging by others reactions, but I am do glad I read this first. Of course the artwork is sublime, but the story, for me at least captured my imagination. I will say the ending had left me thinking, I'm not certain this is a bad thing or a very good thing. I think if I understood what the message here was trying to convey by ending it the way he did then I would appreciate it more, but I'm a little befuddled by it if I am to be honest. Someone needs too adapt this for the screen!
