I really tried to like the book and main character, but it was really hard. The protagonist, Libby, seemed shallow, fake and self-centered. Reading this was a pain. 2 stars, though, for the author's effort in making Libby likeable (though she failed).

The author gives a wonderful voice to this character. I lo ed that this "good girl" allowed herself to live the fantasy type of response to bad news.

           insanely disappointed. libby is an awful mc, and not even in the “i’m-still-rooting-for-you” way. in the, “i-hope-your-cancer-kills-you-way”. the story is slow at times and too fast in others. it seems as tho the author tried to add an air of comedy to the story (libby’s sharpness, etc.) but too often it crosses a line of “what the hell did i just read (page 68). ending almost redeems it, then it ends with an epilogue. i don’t know if it’s just me, but epilogue endings seem like a cop-out to me, in the same vein of “it was all a dream” endings. would not not recommend for anything other than mindless reading.
