Yes, maybe it has to do with Astley, sweet, noble pixie king that he is... This is not to say I don’t like Nick, but I find him kind of pushy and sometimes way too bossy. He’s just constantly trying to keep Zara sheltered, like a damsel in distress, whereas Astley treats her more like an equal. I also really loved how well Astley and Zara worked together. Sure, they’re on a quest to get Nick back, but that’s beside the point. I did sometimes feel like Zara was walking all over him though. I wanted to reach into the book and take Astley with me and take care of him forever and ever. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a weakling, he’s just extremely nice, but when it comes down to the wire, he’s every bit the king that he is. Have I talked enough about him yet? Yeah...it felt..lengthy. Lol But truthfully, it’s what really made this book for me! Was there really something else happening? I actually listened to the audiobook instead of reading it. I’ve found it’s probably the only way I’ll be able to catch up on books that have been on my TBR pile for a long time. The narrator, Julia Whelan, has her accents down. I really enjoyed it! Although, like with most audiobooks, I had to speed up the narration. This is probably the most useful feature on my Audible app. Most audiobook narrators read sooo slowly! Why?!!? That’s always my main gripe. I look forward to seeing how this series will end when <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9915707-endure" rel="nofollow noopener">Endure</a> is out in, wait for it....May 2012! That’s a long time! In any case, I’ll be reading it. :)

Okay, I actually read this book a week and a half ago, so if this review isn't as up-to-par as others, it's because I'm fuzzy on the details of this book, having read 6 books since this one.

Okay, so in this book, something very exciting happened! Some of our main characters starting showing maturity at moments! like, I could actually believe they were seventeen-year-olds instead of sixth graders! yay!

which brings me to my next point: I think these books were named backwards. see, the series starts with Need, then Captivate, then Entice, then Endure.
but, you see, I think these were named backwards because the first book I could barely ENDURE, it was so stupid. the next book ENTICED me a little bit, enough to read the next one, which (I'm not going to go this far) came closer to CAPTIVATING me than the others, and now I NEED the last one.
see?

yeah, anyways, some people die, there's drama with Issie and Devyn and Zara and Astley and of course they save Nick, and there's some Zara-Nick drama, because, of course, she's now a pixie *gasp*!
urg. they all irritate me.

yuck. I'm waiting to get the last one from the library, but there are seven people who have it on hold in front of me, so it'll probably a month or two til I get it.

so, anyway, I'll get back to you on this series, but, if you ask me, I don't think it's worth it to read it in the first place.

Personally,I think Entice was great. Jones drops all the crazy hullabaloo and gets on with the story fast. Maybe a little to fast to follow, but fast is good in fiction. Sort of. Anyway, despite the fact that the logic of the books mythology seems slightly mushed together by either word-weaving genius or plain-ol desperation, the book is intense, and the characters seem to have toughened up, faced reality and most importantly come alive. It seemed like real people facing a dreaded pixie invasion that has consequences and time constraints, that they needed to get their shit together and stop being hunky-dory were/fae and that shit.It was a great improvement from Need and Captivate, which I had to pull myself through, then convince myself at the end the book still got somewhere, then sit up late into the night wondering if. 
The narrator spent most of her time in a pool of self loathing and despair, which is usually entertaining to the reader, but not much time was spent on the despair, I think, while she went off kissing her pixie king while she has pledged herself to her were boyfriend who is in Valhalla. At the end, she finally gets Nick out, and is in a bit of a pickle as she is torn between him and Astley. I like pickles, sour and delicious. I digress.
Anyway, the book is good. The language is a little teeny-boppery with the 'totally's and 'likes's and whatnot, but by now I've realized that Jones' style, and it is as is.
When reading tip: READ SLOWLY AND IGNORE EVERYTHING THAT DOESN'T MAKE A HOOT OF SENSE. 
It's just easier that way, really.

Carrie Jones continues her paranormal drama, beginning with Need and Captivate, in her third novel Entice. Nick is stuck in the halls of Valhalla, the young Pixie King Astley has made Zara his Queen and Bedford is being plagued by murderous Pixies. Zara is desperate to bring Nick back but a traitor in the Pixie council and a traitor in Astley's council are putting Zara and her friends in danger at every turn.
Jones language and descriptions improve in Entice. Less emphasis is put on teenage drama, and the book is mostly travel and action. We are earning insights into the characters pasts, learning about Nick's shifter parents, the death of Astley's father and more about Zara's beliefs.
While Jones still overdoes the teenage colloquialisms (the word sqee will forever make me shudder), it isnt to excess in the same way she over used 'baby' and 'wow' in Captivate. 
The action scenes are good, if limited, and show Zara accustoming herself to her new Pixie body. The one issue I really have with this book is that there is little thought behind all the action. Nick's rescue becomes more of an obsession than a necessity, especially with Zara developing feelings for Astley. For example, a friend from school sees the group chatting 'mysteriously' all the time and demands to know what is going on. A single sentence distracts her from a list of evidence that something unusual is going on. 
Even when Zara goes to the bar to confront BiFord, there is no research, no defences and it is over in a few short pages. I think Entice would have benefited from more substance. Jones needs to flesh out her novels a bit more, to feed the readers something more than what we are getting.
A much better novel than its predecessors, Entice is the third instalment in the Need series.
