I watched the tv version of this book a few times before I got around to listening to the audiobook. I'm glad that I made it, though, because while the show is acceptable the book is fantastic. The plot details make much more sense in the book, not least because there are enough details to make everything plausible; also the book isn't hindered by the show's ridiculous exaggerations, such as death by a thrown javelin. I also much prefer the format of the book, which utilizes government meetings, letters sent by the girls, and newspaper clippings to show readers what is happening. Overall a great book.

One of the few Christie's I wouldn't recommend. A bizarre foreign spy plot & Poirot enters very late. It was kind of a chore to finish, which is rare for Christie mysteries.

Overall a very cozy book. I honestly enjoy Agatha’s work and I love how her books are far more interested in the mystery and setting the atmosphere than spilling guts. This murder is quite different in setting and it’s not my all time favorite, but I loved it! 3.5 stars from me.

I think I could read Hercule Poirot mysteries over and over again and never get bored. I know some of the stories by heart and have seen their film adaptations but I still enjoy reading them very much!

Unlike many other mystery and crime books, this shows a characteristic that puts it above all: everything is written out, every single clue. Is just so well hidden that you need the help of Mr. Poirot to sort it out (just as if you were living the story).

I only wish we had more Poirot time; for more of the half of the book he is nowhere to be seen.
But overall, it was a fun mystery to follow, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I knew I would love this one. The characters were variant, I love how AC detailed what's about them or what happened to each of them. Julia was my favorite. She's brave and smart, she knew what to do when she faced a situation like that. Jennifer, on the other hand, was too self-centered to care about what happened around her.

Poirot only featured after two hundred pages of the story, and to be honest I didn't really amaze by his conclusion like I always did, but still, I really did enjoy this story.
